The Valley of Triumph (1); 7-8-9-10-11-12-13
(every paragraph is a chapter!)
Sentinekka updates her diary and writes about the meeting with the Elder, then also about what Judy told her about the Village of Dreams before reaching it. Sentinekka can discover more about the past in an old library, in which people go to study or more. Judy doesn't have time to go there, and when she does, she forgets what she learns. And she says that people don't care about the past anymore. That they care at least, but think that there's no solution to the Darkness. She thinks differently. When the group finally walks in the Village of Dreams, Judy introduces the Moths to an old friend of hers, called Yashi. Then, another friend reaches them. His name is Timur, who was searching for Judy after she disappeared for a while (😃she does it often).
[little announcement before continuing with 8 chapter: Yashi and Timur exist!! Yashi isn't on this social, while Timur is this person there @sailorygnim . Yes, I got their permission to be in the story. Yes I love them very much 💛🌞. Soon you'll also see more characters that actually exist, called Mona and Arwen. Little spoiler, but yep 👍]
Now, onto the next chapter. Yashi shows Sentinekka and Orlando the Village of Dreams, since Judy had to speak a bit to Timur :D. Sentinekka asks her if she knows her cousin, Isan, and Yashi replies that she doesn't know her well. But, suddenly, someone calls the group and says that she knows Isan: it's Mona (also called Auntie Mona, since everyone calls her that way). As the group speaks with Mona, Sentinekka discovers that her cousin is a Sky Guard, an entity that deal with Gods and Elders all the time. "Sky Guards" is another term to call the AURORA Spirits, even thought Isan isn't a Spirit and is only some kind of assistant. Then, Mona also says that Isan is known for saving the life of a "young strange boy" that was dying in the icy waters of the Village, when she was a Moth. She then was chosen by Sah and Mekh to become a Guard.
Mona takes Sentinekka, Orlando and Yashi where Isan usually is. On the top of a mountain (Isan is very normal, yep). The seventeen-year-old girl is thinking about that time where she saved that boy's life. Such a far away memory. She doesn't know that the boy she has saved has met her cousin, and Sentinekka is too naive to understand it. As she thinks, Mona calls her and shows her the group. Isan immediately hugs her cousin Sen' affectionately, asking her how the journey went, and Sentinekka updates her with everything that happened. She introduces Orlando to her and tells her that she'll see her friends again on her fourteenth birthday.
Sentinekka updates her diary with all the things she discovers while the days pass. She uses her diary to take notes of the past, of what she reads in the library of the Village. Megabird created everything, and there was also the Darkness with her. There was also a Goddess called Aurora. Megabird could only create and not destroy, Darkness could only destroy and not create. They didn't get much along. This is what she has discovered so far. Judy also sees her notes and compliments her. But we can also see Ojtaro's point of view in the chapter. While he is just relaxing in his tent, his sister Leilah (aka Overacting Overachiever. The Mope, the Overachiever and the Troublemaker are Ojtaro's adopted siblings. They were all adopted by Passage Guide, but Ojtaro still doesn't see them as a parent) tells him they have a new "classmate" that will do the lessons with them and other Children. Ojtaro just stares at her in surprise, and she goes away after telling him to come and greet the new one.
Ojtaro finally reaches his family to "greet" the new guy, the Outcast, who will do the lessons with them and came one year earliest to learn to be more extrovert and chatty. Ojtaro already doesn't like him, so while Leilah and Mihok, the Overachiever and the Troublemaker, speak to the new guy, he tries to leave with the excuse of "not wanting to bother anyone". The Passage Guide stops him and tells him to stay. After this little event we can go back to Sentinekka, who's always excited of living a new day in the Village of Dreams. Right now she's in front of the ice skating area. Isan would like to see her skate, so she asked the Skater, from the Season of Dreams, to teach her how to do that. The Skater is a good teacher.
Sentinekka is slowly learning how to skate with the help of the Skater. She moves gracefully across the ice, but she needs to remember to not think often while she skates. She could get hurt, that's what her teacher says. In fact, she was thinking about her home. When she stops near the statue in the area, she stares at it with curiosity. The Skater tells her that it represents one of the Valley Elders, and when Sentinekka asks if it's Sah, the Skater nods. After some seconds, she realizes that Sentinekka isn't really supposed to know that name. When the Spirit asks her how she knows it, Sentinekka replies that an old friend of hers told her. And she accidentally discovers it.
Ojtaro is an Elder. Now she knows it. He is the boy that Isan saved years before. She didn't want to know, but now she does. The Skater told her during the lesson, and she just couldn't avoid running away as fast as she could. Now, the morning later, she stares at the outside of her and Judy's bedroom while she thinks: should she forget those words of the Skater? Or should she talk to her friend when she sees him again? Well, on the same day, Ojtaro is walking with Mihok, who's telling him that he should be nicer to Joyz, the Outcast. He says that a friend never hurts, despite the fact that Ojtaro could risk to never see nobody again after the day he'll become an Elder. Sadly, Joyz and Horand hear them while they talk about Ojtaro's future role. Horand already knew, but Joyz... Well, he now knows. Some days later, then, Isan shows Sentinekka the place where the Season of Performance will be held: the Theatre (so many POV changes AAA-).
The Valley of Triumph (1); 1-2-3-4-5-6
(every paragraph is a chapter!)
In the Valley, the morning later, Sentinekka wakes up Orlando. They're alone. The night before, Sen' and Oj' had made promises: she made him promise to help newbies just like her and he made her promise to always accept people's help and to not worry. He told her he was going to see her again on her fourteenth birthday, in the Village of Dreams, just like Symphony. So, in the morning, the remaining kids continue their journey. As they come down from the valley, the two Moths discover that they have much in common. When they are close to the Ice Rink, they stop. They're supposed to jump, but they're scared to get hurt. But Sentinekka remembers what Ojtaro told her and Symphony when they first met ("Just jump, you won't get hurt"!), so she and Orlando finally reach the Ice Rink without a scratch.
Sentinekka and Orlando talk about their interests, after reaching the Ice Rink. They both like music and helping those in need. Sentinekka, in her home, really loved to dance and sing. And Orlando, when she talks about her crabs, accidentally tells her that crabs are a good source of food for the Sky people (new little and not important trauma for Sentinekka, yahoooo). After she recovers from that information, he asks her where she comes from. From the "Starting Point", she says, and tells him more about it. After talking, they enter in the structure that is supposed to take them to the race. Orlando tries to explain what he knows about it, and a new friend behind them agrees with what he says. Guess what, people? It's a sky kid that comes from the Village of Dreams. Her name is Judylia (DAMNED SELF-INSERT Y'ALL, LET'S GOOO).
When Judy lights up the candle on a pedestal, a continue cheering begins to be heard. Orlando asks about it, and Judy explains that the cheering comes from the "ancient Spirits", Spirits that are not visible and that died because of the darkness. They cheer while waiting for salvation. This is what she thinks, at least. There are many different opinions about it. The gates open, and she takes the Moths by hand and does the race with them. When the group reaches the Coliseum, Judy takes the last fragments of light that she needed to catch and stands on the platform of the ending.
Sentinekka updates her diary until Judy called her to go unlock Spirits and reach the Elders' temple. And while the three children are in the Valley, Ojtaro is walking in the Prairie Fields. He's late. Because a guy kept him for a lot of time to listen to his questions about a friend who he couldn't find. Crazy coincidence, that guy's a friend of Judy, and he asked Oj' if he knew where she could have been. And he didn't know of course. After hiding in a safe place, he makes sure that nobody's looking at him and uses one of his powers: he teleports to the Isle of Dawn. He sees his brother, Horand, who has the pendant of the Passage and could also become a Guide like his father. Horand tells Oj' to justify his delay saying that he was helping him to carry some wood, and Oj' thanks him. After telling his brother why he was late, he asks him why the preparation of the lessons have to begin this early. He already misses Sentinekka.
Horand sighs and explains to him: the lessons have to be prepared in time, and that's a tradition that must keep going. And Ojtaro understands, knowing that he won't participate to the lessons since he'll have to deal with the Prophecy Trials to train to become an Elder. At sixteen, he'll have to go in the Eden to kill the King and take his place, that's what the Elders need him for. That's what Megabird created him for. Since he's lost in his thoughts, Horand wakes him up. He feels bad for what Ojtaro will have to deal with. For what he has dealt with. Oj' hugs him. If only the Elders thought like him... But let's get back to Sen', Orlando and Judy. They're in the temple now and, after a whole speech about crabs that Judy has began since those creatures always bite her, they finally meet Sah and Mekh.
The Twins are in front of them. The kids give their lights and, before the Elders disappear, Sentinekka asks them if the story of the name of the Valley is true. When they hear her question, they point their weapons at her, just as if they were defending themselves from her. Orlando explains that "a friend" told them that story, and the situation seems to calm down. The story is true, the Twins say, and they tell Sen' that she can search more information in the Vault of Knowledge. And, when the Children leave, they go in the Village of Dreams. In two or three months they'll reach the Golden Wastelands for the first time. That's what Judy tells them. They're not ready yet.

As the last of the hunters fell, so did the Bear. Arrows riddled her body where the blades and spears missed, staining her tunic and cape with a shade of red as deep as the moonless skies are dark. Even the act of breathing was agony for her, but still she breathed-- Heavily and slowly, delaying the lull of eternal sleep if only to gaze upon her apprentices.
The Serow, Boar, Ape, and Raccoon-- Runts and pariahs among their people, who adored the Bear as a former pariah themself-- surrounded their master and begged for them to stay until help arrived. They knew, they all knew and wanted to deny that it was already too late, and yet time proved again that it was never their friend.
Thus the Bear gave her last shreds of strength to lay a hand upon the Serow's uninjured shoulder, and braved the pain of seeing her daughter's anguish. With a dry throat and dying breaths, she asked her apprentices to look after one another and to never forget the lessons they have learned together. Young and troublesome were her four apprentices, but the Bear had never been more proud of the adolescents, who rose beyond the chiding and prejudice of their people.
So much more was to be said, so many lessons thet still wanted to teach; The Bear wished that mere words could stall off the end and yet... They finally succumbed to their wounds, surrounded by their grieving successors and veiled in pyrrhic victory by the light of the moon.

Need to set a good example for young moths.
Got the idea after watching the spirit parade again and seeing Overactive Overachiever aggressively walking behind the others. Saw other people mention the aggressive emoting and finally saw it myself. It's hilarious to watch.
#fanart#quick doodle#Sky: Children of the Light#Sky: CotL#Season of Passage#Melancholy Mope#Overactive Overachiever#as I said before I view the Passage Guide as a parental figure to the kids#so I often refer to her as Mama Bear. because of the mask#not sure if I'll finish this. it's been a while since I drew the kids#so cute watching them walk/march in a neat polite line behind Passage Guide#until you see Overactive Overachiever#I noticed that the Nesting Guide isn't in the parade#guess they were too tired to participate after decorating the entire village for the event

🍄🟫🔷🪻: Passage Season is just... 🤌✨
(I'm so sorry y'all but I heard the audio and I just thought about Troublemaker and Overachiever...)
Here is the original video because it's gold: https://youtu.be/VxpI5XhYTsc?si=TEEq7w_bjzZ5NcNy
🌿📜🫀: Go down below the surface to hear headcanons about the Passage Season!
So:
In my AU and story, the Passages Guide adopted all the students one after another except the Outcast. In fact, all the students have no families except the Outcast, who participated at the Passage lessons like any other Skykid, but for a longer time. He began to stay close to the "Passage Family", so I call it, one year before the lessons;
The students are Spirits, but they still can die. I mean, they're in the land of the alive for some reason... Right? It's hard to explain, but they can still die and not come back, even thought real and strong magic is needed to kill them;
You can see that there is an original character of mine, in the last image. Ojtaro, indeed, was adopted too. Thought he's not a Spirit. And, during the Passage lessons, he actually participated to the Prophecy Trials. Soon I'll upload more information about him and the main characters of my story!
